Timothy J. Russell, CFP®, CKA®
President, Teacher & Counselor
Tim Russell literally grew up in the business. His father, Roy Russell, taught each of his 4 children the importance of money and how to be a wise steward of their resources. In the summer between his junior and senior year of high school, his father presented him with a book (Series 6 exam manual) and told him that he should try to get licensed. Tim took up this challenge and was successful in passing the exam. He was only 17 years old at the time.
Today, Tim uses the wealth of knowledge and experiences to assist his clients to become even better stewards of all their assets. As the President, he oversees the day-to-day operations of The Life Financial Group and Life Institute. As a Wealth Manager, Tim works directly with families by helping them understand where they are, where they want to go, and what are the obstacles in their path. He then works with them to craft a plan to deal with the obstacles and achieve their goals.
Tim also leads our Investment Committee for the Biblically Responsible Investment models (BRI models) which seek to honor our clients’ convictions by avoiding investing in companies which profit from tobacco, alcohol, casinos, pornography, and abortion. Tim co-hosts our Stewardology Podcast, a weekly show which helps connect practical, everyday stewardship with rich Christ-centered theology. He also enjoys preaching and teaching in churches and colleges across the country on the area of stewardship and finance in our three-day Stewardship Lifestyle Seminars.
Professional Designations and Licenses
Tim has furthered his ability to assist his clients in reaching their goals by attaining various professional designations. As a CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, and CKA®, Certified Kingdom Advisor, he is equipped to address a wide range of challenges and situations from a professional and Biblical perspective. He also holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses, in addition to his Pennsylvania Life & Health Insurance license.
Educational Background
Tim has his Bachelor’s Degree in Bible with minors in History and Biblical Languages from Clearwater Christian College. He has also completed several years of seminary coursework focused on theology.
